Plant Tour of Plymouth Foundry
1:00pm - 4:00pm.
(Production operations end at about
2:30pm.)
Please bring safety glasses with side shields if possible.
Plymouth Foundry is a gray and ductile iron jobbing shop. Molding is done
on a Roberts Sinto Automatic Molding machine, as well as squeezer, rota-lift and
floor molding. Core processes include Redford and Harrison shell core
machines, no-bake, and Disco isocure. Melting is done with two 4,000 pound
coreless induction furnaces.
